Drawing from his own life experiences, John Delaney presents a collection of enthralling poems with Filing Order. Through these poems, Delaney shares stories from his life alongside some intriguing insights on the human condition. The book opens with the titular poem "Filing Order," which illustrates the natural order of all things. "Best Laid Plans" demonstrates how no amount of planning can save us from the whims of fate. "Giddy Up" reminds readers of the pangs of aging while celebrating the unknown future. The narrator explores the evolutionary nature of all things in "Less Than 1%." The narrator shares a bleak view of humanity in "Let Me Tell You What I Think." "Symptoms" delves into the impact of the recent pandemic on the ordinary citizen.

Author John Delaney offers some keen insights and observations on life through this mesmerizing collection of poems. Filing Order is not just a poetry collection, but an odyssey that takes readers through a life well-lived, with all its ups and downs and everything in between. Delaney's keen insights and observations will strike a chord with anyone who has been through the everyday rigors of life. Although the poems are about personal experience, they touch upon universal themes that will appeal to a broad range of readers. These poetic narratives are engrossing as well as inspiring. Delaney primarily uses sonnets with varying degrees of structural and rhythmic experimentation. However, it's the themes and their execution where Delaney truly shines. All in all, I found this to be an engrossing collection, and I highly recommend it to poetry lovers everywhere.
