Frankie is a very special fish, different from all the others. He has luminescent organs, so he can glow. Other fish treat him badly because of this, but Frankie is not intimidated and will always be a good fish willing to be friendly to other fish. Frankie the Flashlight Fish talks about thriving in adversity, not listening to negative criticism from others, and being willing to help when needed. You should always have a positive attitude toward life, and it is important to live in harmony with society. Katie Hevey not only tells us an interesting story, but the fun illustrations are also hers. You can see the dedication and affection that the book conveys.
I liked the images as they have a very funny way of showing things, and all the fish are very expressive. The book teaches children to always maintain a healthy attitude in difficult situations. These types of lessons will last a lifetime and can be used to interact with other children. They will also serve youngsters in their adult life because acting appropriately is the best option. Katie Hevey talks about friendship and companionship, in addition to not judging others because we are all different, and that helps us to be useful in other ways. Frankie the Flashlight Fish is a very entertaining and educational book that children will enjoy.
