Gary Stringer's Gathering Storm unfolds in Tempestria, a fantasy realm filled with magic and ancient powers. When members of the Council of Wizards suddenly disappear, Catriona, a half-Faery druidess, begins to investigate the matter. Daelen, a shadow warrior, joins her as she ventures on a perilous quest filled with dangerous trials. Together, they search for the truth behind the missing Council leaders. A dark entity, Kullos, is behind everything. He hastily builds an army with the intent of wielding complete dominion over demons and mortals. During her quest for valor, Catriona struggles with her identity and the growing magical powers she possesses. But as her bond with Daelen deepens, he provides her with the support and strength she needs. As their group of allies expands, they must discover what happened to the wizards and Kullos's hidden agenda before it's too late.
The author does a stellar job of pulling readers in with captivating world-building and well-crafted settings. As Catriona and Daelen move through forests, castles, and even interdimensional planes, every scene is unique and exciting. Magic threads through the storyline and adds a brilliant sense of urgency and wonder to their journey. Overall, Gary Stringer crafts characters that jump off the pages. The bond between Catriona and Daelen is complex, yet it unfolds naturally. Kullos's fascinating character presents threats that drive the action sequences forward. Fans of epic fantasy will love this story because the plot includes intrigue, tension, and high-stakes moments that will keep you glued to your seat. I'm a big fan of how key elements like time manipulation and interdimensional travel factor into the equation and add unpredictability to the story. Gathering Storm: The Salvation of Tempestria is a fantasy I won't ever forget. Highly recommended.
