Do you like guessing games? If so, you will love and enjoy Nancy O’Neill’s book “Guess What is on Grandpa’s Farm.” This is an adorable book with a guessing rhythm on one page and a picture of the answer on the next page. And get this, each of the illustrations is created by children of all ages, and from around the world. As an example, here is the first riddle:
I have a curly tail
I play in mud all day.
My nose is flat. I’m big and fat.
And “oink” is what I say.
And guess what the picture is on the next page? And the illustration is created by six year old Arissa Itzel Reyes.
Nancy O’Neill has created a really cute and valuable book for children. The riddles are as cute as can be, and the illustrations are great. As I read this book several times today to my three year old niece, I was amazed that she understood each riddle as well as she did, because they are so well-written, and she also guessed each one the first time itself. Then she wanted to keep reading it over and over. This means only one thing: that it is a good book that kids will love! The guess part of this book is unique, creative and amazing. It not only teaches small children about the different farm animals, but helps them to use their minds and think. And the really special part of this book is that the author, Nancy O’Neill, uses children to illustrate her books. Kids will love the pictures because others their age drew them! I highly recommend this book, and others by this author. I can’t say enough about how special this book is!
