Every other dog at the Sugar Loaf Key animal shelter seemed to get a wonderful family and home after being adopted except for Gypsy (the small German shepherd puppy). After being adopted by four different people who did not treat her well, Gypsy found herself wandering along the coast of Florida, lonely and homeless. It was then that she bumped into Uncle Steve and Charlie who were both fishermen. Although they were nice people and treated Gypsy kindly, Uncle Steve and Charlie did not seem interested in having Gypsy around or taking her in as part of their family. Just when Gypsy had lost all hope of ever finding a home, an opportunity presented itself for her to show her worth. Will she manage to impress Steve and Charlie and finally get a home? Find out more in India Blake’s Gypsy to the Rescue.
India Blake’s Gypsy to the Rescue is a must-read for kids who love animals, adventure, and thrills. Blake forges an enthralling plot with amazing characters. Her simple writing style makes the plot easy to follow. It gets even better with her consistent way of aligning her thoughts and ideas, giving the storyline a perfect flow. Blake creates incredible images, which elevated the reading experience as these added color to my imagination. The characters in the book are well developed. While Uncle Steve and Charlie are kind-hearted people, Shaun is cunning and evil. This book will encourage children to have an intuitive eye when it comes to their relationships with people. It will teach them that no matter how small or inferior they are, they can still make a huge difference in people’s lives. They will also learn the importance of never losing hope and not giving up.
