Hamilton Troll meets Barney Bee by Kathleen J. Shields is the third book in the Hamilton Troll series. This one is the delightful story of Hamilton Troll who meets Barney Bee one spring day when he goes for a stroll. Barney loves the spring season because there is so much nectar and honey in the flowers. He flies from flower to flower, gets tired, and finally rests on a limb. Barney tells Hamilton more about bees and flowers, spreading pollen, and making honey from nectar, and how he was eating way more than he should. Hamilton learns a lot of new things about bees from Barney and encourages him to reduce his weight so that he can fly more easily.

The story is educational, informative, and is also a fun read. The illustrations are lively and colorful and they bring the author’s words and characters to life, enabling young readers to connect well with the contents in the book. It’s a good bedtime storybook and is also ideal for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries. Children learn the names of flowers through this story and this book will also enhance their vocabulary and teach them new things. The friendship between Hamilton Troll and Barney Bee is palpable, making their characters adorable to readers. Stories with a concept, educational and informative content, and messages are always good for child readers as it is easy for them to understand the concept and message when conveyed with the help of a story and illustrations.
