In Hollow by Shaun Allan, we are introduced to married couple Gwen and Amanda, along with their two daughters, Grace and Alexandra. Gwen felt a void in herself and decided to conduct an experiment to see if she could fill it. She contemplated taking someone's life to discover if she had the capacity for it and how it would make her feel. After her first kill, a sense that something was missing lingered, and she wanted to try again. Gwen hoped the next kill would provide her with everything she longed for, marking the beginning of her path as a serial killer. Married to a forensic pathologist, she was aware that her actions could easily lead to discovery. Gwen faced an internal struggle with her actions, constantly battling the urge to kill once more. Would she manage to refrain from harming those she held dear?

The storyline in Hollow by Shaun Allan was both shocking and terrifying. I was captivated from the very first page and could not stop reading until I completed the book. The writing style drew me in, and I joined Gwen on her journey as a serial killer. I hoped she would be caught and stop her murders. The characters were well-crafted and compelling. Gwen struggled with her inner demons and tried her hardest to keep her actions hidden from Amanda. This story was brilliantly written, keeping me in suspense throughout. I was constantly surprised by the twists and turns, racing through the pages as quickly as I could. The major twist at the end took me by surprise, and I definitely did not anticipate it.
