Holly the Holstein Talks About Milk Cows is a children’s picture book by Mandy Dawson Farmer. The book aims to educate children about milk cows and farms. Milk contains many nutrients that are good for children's growth. Join Holly the Holstein as she welcomes you to her farm. Because she lives on a small family farm, the entire family participates in helping out with the chores. Holly also talks about the other animals and machines found on the farm. Children will learn the colors of milk cows, what they eat, and the by-products of milk. Do cows produce chocolate? How much milk can one cow produce in a day? Holly answers all these questions and more.
Holly the Holstein Talks About Milk Cows by Mandy Dawson Farmer is a fun, educative, and interactive book. Many children’s books are told from a child's point of view, but Holly narrates this book. I liked this concept because it is unique. The writing is engaging, and the author uses a light tone. Readers can also answer interactive questions throughout. The book is not only informative but also has some comedic elements. The highlight of this book is the colorful illustrations of the farm. All the animals and people are cute, and the vegetation is lush and beautiful. Children will love the bright colors and cartoonish characters. I recommend parents and caregivers read this book with their children to teach them about milk and its origins. Holly the Holstein Talks About Milk Cows is part of a book series, and I hope to read more from this informative collection.
