A tribe of elves lived peacefully in the forest. They did fun things while playing on the forest floor during daytime and they did not want to go home when the sun went down. In the Rainbow Elves' Kingdom, Citrin, the yellow elf, uses his special gift of guiding light to speak to the other elves about the existence of both day and night and how they chase each other. In Home to Gaia: A Journey to Peaceful Sleep by author Ina Curic, Citrin starts guiding the elves on a very special journey to the center of the earth. The elves are ready to have guests and they invite young readers to take the journey with them. Are you ready for it? Then listen and follow the elves to find the hidden treasure.
This book is insightful and profound and introduces young readers to the concept of meditation through the whimsical story of the elves. The author’s approach to discovering inner peace and tranquility through meditation is magical and unique and the elves come alive with the help of some enchanting illustrations by Mariel Cernat. The idea of having a dream journal is a good concept that will help children to express their dreams by writing down or drawing them. I like the way the author has woven the meditation concept into the plot and has made it easy for children to understand and practice meditation and relaxation techniques. It is a good book for bedtime storytelling and can be used for interactive sessions in classrooms for discussion and activities. The journey with Gaia was peaceful for me. Was it the same for you?
