Honeybee Reads Time is another in the Honeybee series by Jeanette Vuuren. This series, aimed at many different age groups at once, takes children along the journey to discovering bees and the benefits that they bring to our world. In Honeybee Reads Time, we get a chance to learn about analogue time in hours. This includes the life cycle of honeybees and time. Bees ask eggs when to hatch, when to spin, when to eat, etc. Of course, being eggs and such, they don't know what the time is, so the drone bees and queen bees help them out by showing them what time it is in analogue time.
I like Jeanette Vuuren's honeybee series. As an apiary enthusiast, bees are something that should be approached cautiously, but can be great fun, and provide lots of good for a growing environment. If I didn't live in a small two-bedroom condo, I would have a hive for myself. While I'm not really sure what analogue time has to do with bee development, I guess that the book succeeds in attempting to teach both the life cycle and stages of bees and analogue time. The drawings were cute, colorful, and bright, and sure to attract the attention of wandering eyes. This book would be a great fit for the age range of 3-5 and teaches them some of the most rudimentary vocabulary when it comes to bees and honey. Honeybee Reads Time may just pique your little one's interest and, before you know it, you'll have a hive in your own backyard!
