Imprinted is an absorbing psychological thriller by Elizabeth Charles. When a home invasion leads to the death of her boyfriend, Chris, on her 18th birthday, Tessa Schroeder's OCD and trichotillomania worsen, along with her PTSD. In addition, she discovers evidence that someone is stalking her. She finds unexpected comfort with a man named David, one of her parents' college friends. Soon, Tessa and David begin a passionate romantic affair, much to the chagrin of her father and stepfather. However, David slowly begins to display controlling behavior that Tessa brushes off as his love and caring for her. Meanwhile, Tessa's relationship with her mother deteriorates further due to her selfish and egotistical behavior. After David's antics drive a wedge in their relationship, Tessa learns secrets about her family that will turn her life upside down.

This is an absolute page-turner of a psychological thriller. Filled with suspense, mystery, and intrigue, Imprinted grabs you by the scruff of the neck and refuses to let go until the end. Elizabeth Charles spins a gripping narrative featuring three different POVs and timelines that follow the storylines of the three generations of women in Tessa's family. The plot is full of shocking twists, turns, and reveals you never see coming, and you're constantly wondering what's going to happen next. The author masterfully builds tension and intrigue, keeping you on the edge of your seat for most of the book. The ending is somewhat bittersweet but satisfying nonetheless. I was completely hooked from start to finish, and I think other readers will feel the same. Highly recommended.
