Investment Risk and Growth: A Guide for Investors about Investment Vehicles is a non-fiction guidebook in the genres of finance and self-help, and was penned by author R K Mohapatra. After 26 years of experience in the world of finance, both in his home country of India and in the wider world, Mohapatra offers solid advice and first-hand information for potential investors and those who have already entered the field. With seven concise but comprehensive chapters, this book takes buyers and investors through the basics of different types of investment, but also through more general self-help techniques of goal setting and money management once profit begins to be made.
Knowing nothing about the world of finance, I was a perfect candidate to learn some basics through the confident prose and clear narrative of author R K Mohapatra. I liked the energetic style of writing and the inspiring idea that anyone can enter this world of investment and come away with some prosperity for their retirement, and so the goal-setting area of the work was a particular favorite. The explanation of different types of bonds and funds is plenty for a beginner to get to grips with before moving deeper into the world; it certainly provides a solid working knowledge of the options which are available, and why they may or may not work for you. Overall, Investment Risk and Growth is an excellent guide for first-timers and newcomers, presented in a well organized and easy to access format.
