Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book is part of the Life of The Impersonators series by Golden November. G and JBT are ready to look into different and more business ventures, and the resort offers them everything they crave. Adventure, time for shenanigans, and fun - G and JBT look forward to “weekend getaways in the Milestoneville Mountains.” As book hunters, part-time actors, and owners of a beach, the duo has a lot to do and very little time. While this creates issues between JBT and his wife, JBT is not someone to get stuck in a rut. Things get spicy when JBT moves back home to settle his father into a nursing home and takes G with him. Before they know it, JBT, G, Jillian, Flower Rose, Becky, and others each have a new adventure to enjoy and share with each other.
G, JBT, and co are legendary and will always live on in the hearts of the fans of this series (and Golden November to be honest). Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book is the last hurrah for the characters, a sort of bitter-sweet goodbye but in true Milestoneville style. G and JBT are the life of the story; they are quirky, unapologetic, and incredibly funny. I love the dialogues because they are the soul of the story. Click Clack, Jillian, Flower Rose, Becky, and even Tessa are much-loved characters, and it was nice to see them all together, which is a truly heroic feat by Golden November. After reading at least half a dozen stories by this author, I still don’t understand how he adds so many characters into his stories, tells an entertaining story, and does it all without overwhelming readers. Am I a little sad that this is the last book with these characters? Yes, I am, and I will miss them and Golden November’s genius narrative style.
