Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book is part of the Life of The Impersonators series by Golden November. G and JBT are ready to look into different and more business ventures, and the resort offers them everything they crave. Adventure, time for shenanigans, and fun - G and JBT look forward to “weekend getaways in the Milestoneville Mountains.” As book hunters, part-time actors, and owners of a beach, the duo has a lot to do and very little time. While this creates issues between JBT and his wife, JBT is not someone to get stuck in a rut. Things get spicy when JBT moves back home to settle his father into a nursing home and takes G with him. Before they know it, JBT, G, Jillian, Flower Rose, Becky, and others each have a new adventure to enjoy and share with each other.

G, JBT, and co are legendary and will always live on in the hearts of the fans of this series (and Golden November to be honest). Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book is the last hurrah for the characters, a sort of bitter-sweet goodbye but in true Milestoneville style. G and JBT are the life of the story; they are quirky, unapologetic, and incredibly funny. I love the dialogues because they are the soul of the story. Click Clack, Jillian, Flower Rose, Becky, and even Tessa are much-loved characters, and it was nice to see them all together, which is a truly heroic feat by Golden November. After reading at least half a dozen stories by this author, I still don’t understand how he adds so many characters into his stories, tells an entertaining story, and does it all without overwhelming readers. Am I a little sad that this is the last book with these characters? Yes, I am, and I will miss them and Golden November’s genius narrative style.

Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book is a work of fiction in the action and adventure subgenres. It is intended for the general reading audience and was penned by author Golden November. Written in the author’s signature style of script-based dialogue with visual references for scene-setting and transitions, this easy-to-read installment combines characters from the previous series such as No Main Character, The Characters of Milestoneville, and the rest of Life of the Impersonators. The work can be enjoyed as a standalone story in its own right, and it sees us back with G and JBT as some new developments in their lives lead them to add yet another string to their bow of many talents.

It is always hard to describe these books and series to readers who have never encountered them before, but suffice to say Golden November always provides lively characters, plenty of unexpected twists in the plot, and a no-nonsense approach to storytelling that means anyone from any reading background can always enjoy the drama. In this particular installment, I felt the action really leaping on at a pace and we learned quite a lot more about JBT especially I thought, who has always been a big character in the series but got even more detailed and quite emotional in parts. Overall, I certainly enjoyed Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book as much as I have enjoyed previous books from November’s action-packed creative mind, and I certainly hope that it is not the ‘last’ book as the title implies!

In Life of the Impersonators: The Last Book, author Golden November ties up the loose ends of the previous plot threads, and characters from the storylines of the other books make an appearance in the resolution of their arcs. G and JBT are now part-owners of the Milestoneville Mountain Beach, where Miles Senior is set to fund an excavation for the gold. As the two friends reminiscence about JBT's past lovers in the wake of his separation from his wife, Sarah, JBT's mother calls him, asking him to put his father in the nursing home. Meanwhile, Click Clack, Asterick, and Bridget discuss the future of Channel 1994 when Bridget's mother, Bridgette, announces that she is set to receive an all-time best actress award. Additionally, Flower Rose leaves her book shop to her son, Eric.

As the ultimate chapter to end the Life of the Impersonators series, The Last Book is a bittersweet journey filled with charm, humor, and a heavy dose of nostalgia. Like the previous installments, author Golden November puts you in the midst of the action from the very beginning, and you almost feel like you're watching a television series rather than reading a book. A lot of characters from previous books make an appearance as a sort of last hurrah before the curtains come down. Despite all of that, The Last Book still functions as a short standalone adventure story as the pages breeze past before you even notice it. Recommended to readers who enjoy fast-paced adventure stories with a unique narrative style.
