Like Water Drops by Issa is a meditative and emotionally layered novel about grief, spiritual defiance, and the quiet unraveling of identity. We're with Isaac after the sudden death of a very close friend. He is left hollowed out by guilt and disbelief. Once part of a tight-knit, found family built on shared ideals, he now distances himself from everything that once gave him purpose. The narrative unfolds across a fictional landscape of dreamlike cities, where Isaac is forced to confront his deepest wounds when someone from his past reemerges. Through poetic prose and quiet philosophical inquiry, Issa guides the reader into the interior of a mind struggling to reconcile pain, purpose, and the possibility of peace.

Author Issa offers a lot to an audience in terms of personal vulnerability and the ability to explore complex ideas in new ways. It's a graceful and understated story with deceptively simple word choices, but every line carries weight and builds up the deeper you read on. I appreciated how the novel refuses easy answers. Healing is not linear, and this story embraces that fully, honoring the messiness of grief and the slow, uncertain path toward meaning. The spiritual core of the book resonates without prescribing belief. Like its title suggests, the emotional movement is subtle yet powerful, each revelation rippling outward. Overall, Like Water Drops is a quiet, stirring novel that speaks to the soul and lingers in the heart, offering readers a moving meditation on loss, identity, and the fragile beauty of human connection, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.
