Living and Learning from the Healing Waters of Courage by Heather D. Wright takes the reader on a spiritual journey through the life experiences of the author. Ms. Wright’s creative use of prose and poetry makes this book appealing to readers who enjoy both spiritual words of encouragement, and the cadence of a good poem. The words and the poetry convey Heather’s experiences and thoughts on a multitude of subjects. The chapters in Living and Learning cover situations that almost every reader can relate to, and Heather D. Wright definitely reaches her goal of showing the reader that “Everything happens for a reason.”

Although Living and Learning is more poetry than prose, the proportions work well. Heather D. Wright’s poetry comes from the heart, and is quite poignant at times. This reader particularly enjoyed the chapter titled “The Determined Spirit Named Courage,” about a little kitten who had the courage and determination to overcome his handicap. I also enjoyed Ms. Wright’s mental journey to heaven, where she meets the angels of faith, hope, love, joy and peace.

If you've ever felt alone and lost, this book will help you realize that God is, and always will be, there for you. Ms. Wright talks about being empathic to the energy of the people around her, and her struggle to keep the “energy vampires” at bay, in a way that most people can understand. Living and Learning from the Healing Waters of Courage has a very positive impact on the reader. Writing poetry is not an easy task, and Heather D. Wright does a great job of sharing her life lessons with the reader in that format.
