The Horseless Horsemen: Germaine by Ross C Miller is the third book in the series. The story follows Germaine, a young girl who is caught in things that are far too dark and dangerous for her. Growing up, she had no idea that one day, she would wake up to find her heart and liver taken in a horrifying Satanic ritual. While her companions, Justice and Rita, are driven by broader missions of justice, Germaine returns with a singular, burning purpose: to find and destroy the ancient evil responsible for her death. This malevolent entity possesses the power to inhabit living bodies and has secretly influenced human history for thousands of years. Germaine must leave her innocent farm girl upbringing behind and summon inner strength to confront incomprehensible darkness. She faces a mission that may demand more than any soul can bear, but she has to try. But can she succeed against an evil so old? Or will she perish?

Author Ross C Miller delivers an incredible story with a strong lead and a fantastic storyline once again. This dark and gripping conclusion to The Horseless Horsemen trilogy takes the reader deeper into its unsettling mythology. The horror of Germaine's murder immediately sets a high-stakes, revenge-driven tone. I loved the antagonist -- an ancient, body-possessing evil is a truly formidable enemy, and I enjoyed how its mention always amplified the suspense. The stark contrast between Germaine's naive innocence and her challenger makes her a relatable character that the reader cannot help but cheer for. The multiple POV narrative is intense, the pace is fast, and the story is incredible. The reader experiences Germaine through every phase of life and becomes a part of her journey. The Horseless Horsemen: Germaine is a powerful, action-packed, character-driven story that I highly recommend. I recommend this whole series to readers who enjoy horror with loads of suspense and mystery!

The Horseless Horsemen, Book 3: Germaine by Ross C. Miller is an epic fantasy that continues the story of three Horsemen—Justice, Rita, and Gerrie—supernatural beings who God tasked to mete out justice on earth. Justice is a scary-looking figure who comes back to life after drowning; Rita can move into other people's bodies and take out their souls, while Germaine (Gerrie) is a young girl who became the third Horseman after being killed in a ritual. The story shows their religious discipline and how they believe they are doing God's work despite having some inner doubts about their purpose. They work together to stop terrible killers like child abusers, organ traffickers, and occult killers and save their victims. Through their roles on earth, the narrative looks deeper into big questions about faith, such as free will, God's plan for people, and the ongoing fight between good and evil.

I have been following The Horseless Horsemen series closely, and one unique thing I have noticed is how it combines horror with heartfelt moments. The terrible crimes that are described, like abuse, ritual killings, and more, are shocking, but at the same time, they feel very necessary to understand why the Horsemen's mission is so important. The character development is superb. Justice is not portrayed as a superhero; he is a troubled, powerful corpse trying to find his purpose, while Gerrie's presence brings innocence and faith to their grim work. I was touched by how this story shows healing in broken people: not by just removing their pain, but by giving it meaning. Harald, Gerrie's father, is another character that I rooted for; the role he played added depth. Ross C. Miller's writing style is cool, with clear descriptions, sharp conversations, and regular pacing. I recommend The Horseless Horsemen, Book 3: Germaine to lovers of paranormal fiction, horror, and stories that explore deep philosophical and theological themes.

Germaine by Ross C Miller is a chilling and action-packed paranormal thriller that brings the first Horseless Horsemen trilogy to a dramatic and emotionally charged close. After witnessing the brutal and ritualistic murder of their young friend Gerrie, Justice and Rita are left shattered, but Gerrie’s story is far from over. Gerrie is reborn with a singular mission and sets out to confront the ancient demon that killed her, a malevolent force capable of possessing human bodies and warping history. As the young spirit of a murdered girl raised in a strict Brethren farming community, Gerrie faces cosmic evil with courage beyond her years. The Horseless Horsemen are forced to reckon with forces older than civilization itself, and their battles push the boundaries between justice and vengeance. With its eerie atmosphere, philosophical undertones, and visceral horror, Germaine cements this series as a bold fusion of the spiritual and the supernatural.

Author Ross C Miller has a fantastic sense of detail and how to balance description with action, and that makes for a fantastic pace in this immersive and breathtaking finale that fearlessly tackles good, evil, and everything in between. Fans of the series so far will find themselves thrown straight into the developments with a cinematic burst of description, and the realistic emotional portrayal offers a supernatural epic that’s both haunting and heartfelt in all the right places. The narration around Gerrie and her rebirth is unforgettable, connecting readers to a tragic, fierce heroine who transcends death and comes back with superb force for some genuinely frightening thrills. The horror moments are paced well, graphic but never gratuitous, and blended credibly into the story for a uniquely mythic paranormal tale that feels both ancient and startlingly current. Overall, Germaine is a highly recommended read for fans of the series so far. The series in general would make a fantastic read for anyone keen on detailed, pacy, action thrillers with lots of paranormal horror touches.

The Horseless Horsemen: Germaine by Ross C. Miller is book three in the titular series, preceded by book one, Jude, and book two, Rita. In book one, Justice, an engineer and veteran, perishes in Fukushima. His partner, Robert, survives, burdened by guilt. Years on, a deteriorating man roams in isolation as memories of a hidden past emerge, bent on eliminating evil. In book two, after death, Rita awakens in the corpses of murdered women, each life revealing a pattern. Her journey leads to the Grey Man, a lethal, decaying hunter, whose mind entwines with hers. Now, Gerrie, once a hopeful teen from a secluded farming sect, hunts the shapeshifting force that killed her. Unlike Justice and Rita, chasing shadows of evil, Gerrie seeks one ancient horror, its roots deep in humanity’s earliest, darkest moments. “I can hear what you think. I’m Gerrie. I was supposed to find you...”

The Horseless Horsemen: Germaine by Ross C. Miller is a spectacular finale to the trilogy, and Gerrie is the perfect addition. Gerrie's confused state is so great and matches the shock of Justice and Rita: an eerie setting, psychological uncertainty, supernatural medical phenomena, ritualistic practices, and unreliable narration. Miller's atmosphere is always thick with suspense and mystery, but Gerrie's gradual realization of her environment and the strange “people” in it allows for her disorienting, unsettling world to unravel. The point of view shifts flesh the story out, and the moment she meets Justice and Rita, Miller incorporates the Horseless Horsemen moniker, and the timing is brilliant. Faith remains a source of strength, and Gerrie encourages Justice to accept things as they are and trust that God’s plan is unfolding, which I adore. Overall, this is the best of the best in a wonderful trilogy. Very highly recommended.

Germaine is the final book in The Horseless Horsemen trilogy by Ross C. Miller, and thrusts readers into a world where ancient, malevolent entities manipulate humanity for their dark purposes. The narrative focuses on the chilling story of a young girl named Germaine and the insidious Atahsaia, an ancient, shapeshifting entity. Readers are introduced to a secluded Old Brethren German Baptist community where young Germaine contracts scrofula, a condition linked to tuberculosis in adults but surgically curable in children. The family's deep faith clashes with the grim reality of the illness, leading to a desperate decision to entrust Germaine to a doctor connected to Atahsaia. Simultaneously, Atahsaia continues his financial machinations and solidifies his control over his "flock," demonstrating his power through a chilling transformation and the brutal elimination of perceived threats. Justice and Rita watch helplessly as Germaine is murdered. But she will fight the monster that destroyed her life and used her liver and heart for a demonic ritual. Will she succeed, and can she count on the Horseless Horsemen?

The cast of characters in Germaine is eclectic, including the manipulative entities and the human pawns. Unlike Germaine, who is innocent, conscientious, and deeply faithful, Atahsaia, a genuinely chilling and ancient being, embodies a profound and cynical contempt for humanity. He is intelligent, strategic, and revels in the manipulation and suffering of others. His ability to shift between male and female bodies and his casual cruelty, as seen in the fate of Stephen, highlight his detachment from human morality. He views humans as “brainless and blind,” easily led by their flaws, which he and his "Father" intentionally instilled. His financial schemes are not merely for wealth but as a tool to further their larger, sinister goals of chaos and control. His internal monologues, filled with sardonic humor and dark amusement at human folly, provide a disturbing insight into his twisted perspective. Ross C. Miller's conclusion to this trilogy is a winner, a well-crafted paranormal story with strong spiritual elements and the proverbial struggle between good and evil. As always, the writing is crisp, and the one-sentence paragraphs build the drama, accentuating the lyrical quality of the writing.

The Horseless Horsemen by Ross C. Miller tells the story of Germaine (Gerrie), who was murdered on a stone altar. Gerrie's throat was slashed, and her heart and liver were taken. Gerrie communicated with God and faced a decision. Gerrie embraced her mission to locate Justice and Rita. God revealed the identities of Justice and Rita to her. Gerrie was the third Horseman, tasked with assisting Justice and Rita in finding and eliminating the creature that had taken her life. This evil being could seize a new host and leave it behind. Although Gerrie could not sense the presence of the evil entity, she was certain it still existed. The trio of Horsemen had developed into a skilled and effective unit, fully aware of one another's strengths and abilities. Gerrie, Justice, and Rita would confront the evil force when the moment arrived.

The Horseless Horsemen by Ross C. Miller was an extraordinary read that was both complex and thought-provoking. The story began with an elaborate portrayal of the malevolent entity and the trio of Horsemen. This was quite captivating and helped me grasp the essence of the plot. With numerous unexpected developments, I was continually surprised by what would unfold next. The writing style was compelling, keeping me engaged from beginning to end. The characters felt genuine and relatable. Gerrie stood out to me as my favorite; her unwavering faith in God never wavered. The story was beautifully crafted, and with all the vivid descriptions, I found it easy to immerse myself in the Horsemen's lives. It exceeded my expectations by far, and I truly enjoyed reading this book.
