Karen Monteverdi’s LIVING CONSCIOUSLY in an EGO DRIVEN SOCIETY begins by giving us the background to understand why it was necessary for her to write this book. She abuses by her father would make anyone bitter and desiring only revenge. She was the last of twenty-one children from three marriages.
She chose to forgive. It didn’t just happen, but was the result of a long struggle that culminated in her forties in finding an effective counselor. It wasn’t easy as she learned that emotional upsets and pain are necessary when you are trying to break old neurological patterns and devise and develop new, healthy ones. She had to be reprogrammed and then to solidify her new one.
Her mentors taught her about; forgiveness, authenticity, self-respect, personal responsibility, learning about triggers, active (real) listening, and how to find, accept, and give love.
Some of her suggestions are obvious and would help anyone improve her life, but they are often complex and difficult to do.
However, it is an excellent primer about the coaching process, synergy, structures, and expertise. It uses a variety of approaches to ending victimization overriding, negative history, and taking charge of your life. Further, it has an excellent selection of resources for anyone wanting to change her life – for the better.
