Lost With No Trail by Anne C Maxwell is the third and final novel in the Never Without Her trilogy. This is the story of Omar and Elena, two people who couldn’t be more different yet they found everlasting love in each other. After their trouble with the Albanian mafia, Elena is kidnapped by their chief Dhimiter Gjergi. He is a vicious man who only seeks revenge and the best way for him to do this is by separating Elena and Omar. No matter how hard Omar tries, Dhimiter moves Elena just out of his reach at the last moment. However, when they are finally able to get together, the Reality Scramblers strike again and this time they have landed in 15th century England. They have to find a way to get back and once they do, they need to face all their problems because life waits for no one, not even for two people who are desperately in love with each other.
Although I have not read the previous novels in the series, I had no issues with becoming interested in the characters. I must admit that I was a little skeptical about the time travel aspect in a suspense novel, but the author handled it with ease and talent. The author handled the two timelines very expertly; she gave each timeline the right tools to make it sharp and stand out. From the language to the clothes to the dialogues, everything was relevant to the era. The suspense was very well managed. The author kept me on my toes from the very beginning and I was on the edge of my seat until the last page. The ending was very sweet and befitting of the characters. I was glad that neither Elena nor Omar lost their spunk. This is a great romance and I cannot wait to read the previous two novels in the series. Brilliant and simply amazing!
