Marvin and the Giant Bubble (The Magic Mommy Series) by Karin McCay is a fun, well written children's book about a young boy named Marvin. Marvin is sure that his mom had magic powers, as she always knew just what he and his sister, Melissa Ann, were up to. One day, their mother gave them each a graham cracker and told them to play outside. Melissa Ann ate hers immediately, but Marvin kept his. The two played separately, when Marvin noticed a giant bubble blower. With the giant bubble blower, he could blow huge bubbles. But then he blew a bubble, just as Melissa Ann was coming down the slide. Melissa Ann got stuck in the bubble! How will Marvin get her out of the bubble?
I really enjoyed reading Marvin and the Giant Bubble (The Magic Mommy Series) by Karin McCay. The book is very well written and descriptive, with many funny parts, as well as scenes full of action and suspense. The book is full of likeable characters, because Marvin is great at problem solving, and Melissa Ann is very funny. The pictures by Vova Kirichenko are very well drawn and clearly depict each scene. The pictures are also very colorful and bold. This book will have the reader on the edge of their seat. The story is well developed and well thought out. Parents will enjoy reading this to their child and children will want to read it again and again. I would definitely recommend this book to all young readers.
