In Maybe Tomorrow by Patricia McCain, the author first catches the reader's attention with the stunning picture on the cover, and then that attention is held throughout by the story that unfolds inside. The book covers from 1920 to 1956 and tells the story of a woman very determined to improve her lot and that of her husband and children. The story is told through the eyes of the daughter and mother and, to some extent, the father. Minor characters who wander through the story also contribute their perspectives and cause twists that make the reader wonder if this is the end, but then the story takes another turn.

"Maybe tomorrow" is a phrase and a thought that two of the main characters say when things get bad, confusing, and downright scary. Each person is important in their own way to the story and the shaping of the main character, Lori Ann. Patricia McCain uses her characters to their very best advantage to bring this delightful story to life with the most amazing hope and trust in human nature that radiates throughout the pages. It is a very good read and will hold the reader's attention from the first page to the last, especially with the twist that the reader will not expect to appear. Maybe Tomorrow was a most interesting book. Thank you for a lovely inspiring read, Patricia. Well done.
