Memories Of Love, Ashes, and Orcas (New Beginnings) by Jorgia Dee is a fictional short story or novella that would appeal most to a mixed audience of mature young adults and adults who enjoy love stories and who do not mind some explicit content. Forty-three-year-old retired Army Special Forces Officer Mike McKenzie’s life was forever changed when he made the decision to stop a thief getting away with a woman’s purse. After turning the thief over to a security officer, Mike proceeded to return the purse to Patricia Clark, not knowing that his heroic act had just served to introduce him to the woman that he would quickly find himself deeply in love with.
Memories Of Love, Ashes, and Orcas (New Beginnings) by Jorgia Dee is a well-written novella filled with a truly heart-warming love story. Patricia Clark quickly became my favorite character, as I felt saddened by the fact that she was formerly in an abusive marriage and I came to feel that she truly needed Mike McKenzie’s love in order to help her heal from her past. However, Mike was a close second, as he just felt so real that I found myself falling in love with his character and wishing he were a real person. This book may be fictional, but it felt so real and was filled with so much emotion that it could have been a true story. Overall, I found myself greatly enjoying this short story. My only disappointment was that it was not longer as I would have loved to read more about Mike and Patricia’s love.
