Mostly True Ghost Stories: Chronicles of the Paranormal is an intriguing collection of haunted stories written by Charlotte Chaffin. This book contains five short, spooky and thrilling stories. "Ghost Train" is about five college kids who take a midnight train ride encountering strange happenings and unusual folks..or should I say ghostly folks! "Blackbeard’s Ring" is a creepy tale about 15-year-old Shane and his family going to vacation at Ocraoke Island where Blackbeard’s legend would truly come alive. Shane’s hand sweeps the bottom of the ocean’s floor and brings up Blackbeard’s ring, but what will happen when he puts it onto his finger? "A Ghost in the Mirror" is a frightening tale about a woman who sees a frightening image of a ghost in her mirrors after renting a new home with her husband. But what she doesn’t expect is that it starts following her through mirrors to where she works! "The Haunted House" is about two siblings who go to check out an old abandoned house. It is there that one of the siblings finds more than she bargains for and must find the courage to help out a ghost in need. "The Haunted Wheel" is a gripping story about a mysterious ship wheel found at a bargain store and the events that unfold after the family hangs the haunted item up in their home.

Everyone has a fascination for the paranormal and things we cannot explain rationally, and some of us have even witnessed paranormal events first-hand. This is a great collection of short stories written for older children, teens and adults. Each story is suspenseful, entertaining and fun to read. "Blackbeard’s Ring" was my very favorite of the stories because I was clinging from word to word trying to find out what would happen next! It is truly a haunted tale with suspense and mystery until the very end. I absolutely loved the twists and the thrilling moments that had me on the edge of my seat. Charlotte Chaffin does not disappoint in this eerie novel and leaves so much up to the imagination. This collection of short stories is a perfect novel for older children on up to adults.
