Growing up in foster care is not always easy. But foster parents do give a lot of love to children in their care and have an impact on the formative years of their lives. Miriam Monette's My 3 Moms: A Foster to Adoption Story celebrates those kind-hearted people who lend a hand to raise the kids most in need of love and care. The author tells the story of a child who is lucky to have been loved by three mothers in his life. First, he remembers his biological mom, who brought him into this world. Next is the foster mom, who takes care of him until he finds his adoptive family. It isn't just the moms but also the fathers, uncles, grandparents, and other relatives who eventually become a part of his family and shower him with love and happiness.
Miriam Monette tells a beautiful story that offers readers a glimpse into the world of a foster child. My 3 Moms honors those parents who provide homes and families to children in need and reminds us that many people continue to make this world a better place to live. This is a heartfelt tale for both children and their parents. Monette's characters certainly have their equivalents in real life as this is a story about found family. The beautifully drawn artwork breathes life into the characters and makes the story even more enjoyable for the young reader. I am very grateful that I read this book. If you're looking for an uplifting tale to brighten your day, My 3 Moms is the book for you!
