Night at School by Manisha is a comedic horror story. Jakob and his friend stay behind at school for detention and extra math. It's Halloween, the scariest time of year, and everyone is talking about the ghosts roaming the halls. When they try to leave at 4 PM, everything changes. The lights go off, and they can't get out of the gates. They are trapped. When they try calling for help, they can't seem to get through to anyone. Fear creeps in as they begin to wonder what might be roaming the corridors of their Victorian school. Will they be rescued, or will they have to wait until school starts again tomorrow?
Night at School by Manisha is a short story about a group of kids who get stuck at school for a night. Or do they? This is a humorous look at something many kids have often dreamed of, even if the reality would probably scare them stupid. This may be a short story, but it is packed with action and full of mystery, with a neat little twist at the end that you won't see coming. The characters are well-rounded, quite an achievement for such a short book, and each has their own distinct personality. It's also a story about working together to overcome your fears and get through a sticky situation. This is a fun tale about friendship and collaboration, a great way to pass a train or bus journey to work or when you just want to wind down at the end of the day.
