In Obesseus World War Food by D.T. Tucker, Obesseus is pulled into an escalating food war when General Walter Walnut warns that the Salad Sector has unleashed the Broccoli Beasts. With his Slam-Fu headband, Obesseus sets out across the buffet lands, clashing with restless vegetables and unpredictable fruit leaders. Zach the Zucchini, Evelyn Eggplant, and Conflicted Tomato are in the mix, alongside and sometimes on the wrong side of Grant the Grapefruit and Councilman BlackBerry Smalls. Meanwhile, Julian Jellybean rises as a manipulative force, spreading corruption and summoning strange armies, from Muffin Ninjas to shrimp legions, to destabilize the Snacklands. As Obesseus battles breakfast titans, corrupted vegetables, and dessert deities, he must harness Slam-Fu power to safeguard the Buffet Gate from total takeover.

D.T. Tucker’s Slam-Fu series takes a leap forward in Obesseus World War Food, delivering a riot of imagination and action that makes the Snacklands feel larger, stranger, and more entertaining than anywhere else I've been lately. Tucker mixes wild humor and inventive battles, creating a story that is both outrageous and surprisingly cohesive. The inventive food-based characters, from Sinister Shrimp’s Shrimp Scourge and Clammandos to the antics of the Citrus Siblings, are written with such panache that it's impossible not to laugh. Obesseus himself is an unexpectedly endearing fighter, his Slam-Fu techniques bringing both excitement and comedy to every showdown. The introduction of artifacts like the Biscuit of Balance gives a little bit of myth to the book's momentum. Readers who love unpredictable worlds and unique satire will find this an absolute delight. My kids and I all adored it.

D.T. Tucker's Obesseus: World War Food culminates in a dramatic showdown between veggie aficionados and gravy lovers, ultimately leading to a thrilling and inevitable conclusion. Julian Jellybean is up to no good, gathering vegetables and their allies to create havoc all across Snackland. Meanwhile, all Obesseus wants to do is to munch on his beloved snacks and gravy in peace. However, the salad sector has gone rogue, and someone has released the Broccoli Beasts. The Portion Patrol is high on power, while the surviving leaders of the Slam-Fu Resistance gather at Nacho Nook. Obesseus is the only one who can unite these reluctant allies into a formidable resistance group. But can they stand up to the ruthless vegetable regime? Will Obesseus ever find the freedom to eat what he wants?

Obesseus: World War Food is not just an action-adventure book for kids, but also a humorous satirical tale for all food aficionados. D.T. Tucker builds on a hilarious premise to craft an immersive world full of goofy characters that never shy away from indulging in wild antics, especially anything related to food. The light-hearted tone ensures the book is a joy to read. Whether it's the action-packed food fights or the secret meetings of resistance groups, there's a lot to love about this story. It's silly, fun, and most of all, entertaining from start to finish. Obesseus is a protagonist unlike any other. He is the unlikely hero nobody expects him to be, least of all himself. I also enjoyed the characters of Zack Zucchinni and Jeremy Jelly. Children are going to love this series.

Obesseus World War Food by D.T. Tucker is part of The Slam-Fu Series. Obesseus is not happy because he’s in Buffet Mode and his feast has been interrupted. A tiny server informs him that the Broccoli Beasts have been released; Julian Jellybean has returned with revenge on his mind. Snackland must prepare for a full-on assault as the Food War begins, and Obesseus is the only one who can stop it with his rice balls. Grant the Grapefruit joins the battle, which promises to get very messy as food flies and secrets are spilled everywhere. Can Obesseus bring peace to Snackland, or will the Food Wars destroy everything?

Obesseus World War Food by D.T. Tucker is a fun adventure and the third in the Slam-Fu series. It’s a cute story that all kids will love; who doesn’t love a food fight? This is a unique story. I’ve not read the other two books in the series, but I believe they are a must for anyone to truly enjoy and understand the third book. I loved how the foods were given names like Conflicted Tomato, Zach the Zucchini, Grant the Grapefruit, and lots more, as it gives them identity and might help kids see some healthier foods as friends and not foes. Written for older children, it’s a story they’ll never forget, in my opinion. It’s fun, filled with humor, and has plenty of action-packed battles. The dialogue is clear and easy to follow and is written in such a way that it will conjure up the story in readers’ minds. This is a wonderful story, and I think kids everywhere will love it.
