Author Biography

Dr. William Cohen was the first graduate of the doctoral program that Peter Drucker co-founded. What Drucker taught him changed his life. Shortly after graduating, Cohen was recommissioned in the Air Force and rose to the rank of major general. Eventually, he became a full professor, management consultant, and the author of more than 50 books, while maintaining a nearly lifelong friendship with his former professor. In 2009 he was named a Distinguished Alumnus by Drucker’s school, Claremont Graduate University, and two years later he co-founded the non-profit California Institute of Advanced Management with the mission of offering affordable graduate degrees based on the principles and values of Drucker. He served as its president from 2010-2016. He now serves as president of the Institute of Leader Arts, an international training and consulting company.

Peter Drucker's Way to the Top: Lessons for Reaching Your Life's Goals by William Cohen is a powerful book that explores the thoughts and strategies of a reputable and highly respected businessman: Peter Drucker. The man known as the consummate ‘big company man,’ consulting major corporations until suddenly and surprisingly in 1985 he wrote a bestselling book called Innovation and Entrepreneurship, is the subject of this book. William Cohen gives readers valuable lessons from Drucker’s work and success in showing how small organizations are able to not only be successful over their regular competitors, but can also grow and measure up to the ‘Goliaths’ they compete against.

While discovering the path to success walked by one of the world's renowned business icons, the reader will discover the four powerful entrepreneurial strategies he used to build his success, and understand why integrity, ethics, and honor are core values that propel businessmen and women towards greater success. Readers also have great insight on themes like building self-confidence, dealing with risk, how to cultivate a positive spirit, how to market oneself and a lot more. William Cohen’s writing is confident and characterized by the fluidity of a skilled communicator. This book offers invaluable lessons in business, lessons learned from an extraordinary mentor. While Peter Drucker's Way to the Top: Lessons for Reaching Your Life's Goals reveals a business icon and an indefatigable mentor to readers, it also provides insight, lessons, and strategies that can transform any business, helping it to reach higher levels of success. A must-read for anyone fired with the zeal to leave footprints on the path of business success.
