Thanks to the author’s confident narration and a keen eye for dialogue that encourages you to read between the lines, the complex characters and their motivations kept me invested in the story from beginning to end. Proportional Revenge is a thrilling story by David G. Williamson. Peter was sitting on the floor with a glass of red wine when Chique killed him with the wine bottle. Peter had whispered his plans for the afternoon, and it felt like a fist had hit her in her stomach. Peter had betrayed Chique’s trust, and she could not allow him to hurt her anymore. Peter’s wife Mary had given Chique her number in case she ever needed help. Chique called Mary and asked for assistance with her situation. Mary knew all the sordid details of Chique and Peter’s affair. Mary was intent on maintaining her façade of riches and status while desperately trying to avoid political scandal, and she agreed to help Chique. Mary’s subsequent betrayal propelled Chique into an unstoppable drive for destruction and revenge.

Proportional Revenge by David G. Williamson is complex and exciting. It was a roller coaster ride of lust, betrayal, murder, and revenge. The story was fast-paced and jam-packed with action, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. The events were vivid and easy to visualize. I was intrigued from the start and was kept guessing until the end. With all the twists and turns, I never knew what would happen next. The characters were robust and authentic. Mary helped Chique out, only to deceive her later, and it set Chique on her path of vengeance. It was like watching a chess game between Mary and Chique. The story was excellent, and the major twist at the end was a big surprise.

Proportional Revenge by David G Williamsson is the first book in the Chique series of psychological thrillers. First, a warning –- this is not for younger readers, nor is it for the faint-hearted. This is a hard-hitting story of long-term abuse and is quite graphic in places. The story is well-written with a unique plot and some excellent characters, all well-developed into real people. No doubt, there will be readers who can identify with some of the main ones. Descriptive writing allows you to see the story in your mind, and there are several twists and turns along the way. The suspense builds throughout, leading to the explosive ending, and it will keep you reading as you’ll want to know what happens next. A good story, and highly recommended for adult readers who like a riveting thriller.

Proportional Revenge is a pulsating crime thriller by David G. Williamsson. Growing up abused by her father, Chique Fluellen leaves her family and past life behind when she joins a top-secret cyber-security project in London. But being vulnerable in a new city, she begins indulging in an impromptu BDSM relationship with her married boss, Peter, which eventually turns sour and ends with Chique bashing Peter's head with a wine bottle until he's dead. Lacking options, she seeks help from Peter's wife, Mary van Ark Jameson, a woman from a prominent Washinton political family. But Mary has her plans and frames Chique in a conspiracy that lands her in prison. Now, Chique's older sister Claire is ready to make amends by helping her sister find freedom. Will Chique continue on the path of revenge? And will it be successful?

Fifty Shades of Grey meets House of Cards! Proportional Revenge lands somewhere in an odd place between an erotic thriller and a political crime drama. Each twist and turn of the plot takes you by surprise and ensures you're eagerly waiting for what's coming next in the upcoming pages. David G. Williamsson takes a while to set the characters and the plot, which starts moving at a breakneck speed from around the halfway mark. As a protagonist, Chique is at once vulnerable and strong, confident and insecure. Her past trauma plays a vital role in who she becomes later. The book isn't for everyone, as it features several very graphic sex scenes and descriptions of sexual assault that may not appeal to the sensitivity of some readers. But otherwise, it's a captivating political thriller that I will definitely recommend.
