Prosecco & Paparazzi (The Passport) (Volume 1) by Celia Kennedy is the first book in the Passport series that will appeal most to an audience made up of young adult females as well as adult women. Prosecco & Paparazzi follows Charlotte Young as she has her own fifteen minutes of fame with celebrity Des Bannerman (The King of Rom-Com), yet what is supposed to simply be a fun evening quickly turns sour when the media catches wind of the meeting and gives it a different twist. Charlotte ends up being issued with a restraining order. Charlotte must deal with the outcome of her celebrity encounter, but she is not alone as she has a group of friends to help and support her through her ordeal.
Prosecco & Paparazzi was an interesting read and I found that I really enjoyed Celia Kennedy’s writing style - she just had a way of creating a perfect picture in my mind of each scene and character. One of the things I liked was that the book began with a cocktail recipe for the reader to enjoy while reading. I have never seen this before in a book and I thought it was a unique idea.
While I enjoyed all of Prosecco & Paparazzi, my favorite part was where Charlotte and her friend Taylor end up creating an elaborate lie in order to get Charlotte a meeting with Des Bannerman to try to sort out the restraining order. I just found the scene funny because of the amount of effort and all the lying they had to do to set up the meeting, and then Taylor getting frazzled after realizing that she just became a sort of accomplice to Charlotte. I really enjoyed reading Prosecco & Paparazzi and I hope the second book in the Passport series comes out soon!
