Purr-Fect Pitch is a comedy romance by Carolyn Wren. His brothers had taken him to celebrate the night before Devlin's birthday. The following morning, he woke to a singing telegram at his front door. Katherine Grant was amused at the sleep-deprived man who'd opened the door with "I love cats" written across his face with a sharpie. She had no interest in Devlin's song requests nor any idea who the man she was singing to was. Katherine needed to get to her next job, which resulted in late-forwarded mail: an invitation to attend an interview at Perdie's and into the arms of the man she remembered from that fateful day. Devlin was in love with Katherine from the moment he saw her. He continued falling for her with each passing day, and as one of the only people who knew where he lived, Katherine became Devlin's cat-sitter and his most gifted student. When tragedy strikes on the day of her grading, she makes the only choice that feels right.

It has been a long time since I read a book that truly captured my attention. The joy I felt with each turn of the page and the laughter at the hilarious romance was something I was desperately in need of right now. Carolyn Wren's incredibly imaginative, beautifully thought out, and lighthearted look at a romance for the ages was wonderful and true. It was not filled with needless sexually gratuitous banter, yet the love between the main characters was very much felt. Purr-Fect Pitch was laid out like a script for the next blockbuster love story with a "Fame" interlude. I cried many tears toward the end and continued rooting for Devlin and Katherine to find a way through their heartbreak and pain. I recommend Purr-Fect Pitch to all romance addicts who don't mind a bit of cat hair on their clothes. With great anticipation, I will keep my eyes peeled for more titles by my new favorite author, Carolyn Wren.
