In her newest book in The Ransome Trilogy, Kaye Dacus introduces us to Charlotte Ransome, the sister of William. She incorporates characters from the first book into this book. The main plot of the story is about Charlotte's adventure. Even as a young child Charlotte wanted to go into the Royal Navy. She knew women were not allowed. She hid her identity and signed on as a crew member. She was determined to reach her secret fiancé, Henry Winchester, in Jamaica. At first she had a problem with some of the crew members. Soon she made friends with a few and irritated the others. She was a better sailor than many of those on board. When she became ill her real identity was revealed. Ned Cochrane found himself in love with her. Kaye begged the crew and Captain not to tell her brother. Will Charlotte be sent back as soon as she reaches Jamaica? Will she lose her heart to Ned?

This is an enjoyable read with an amazing conclusion. There is one more book in this series and I can hardly wait to read it. This book stands well alone but I recommend reading them in order. This is a delightful read.
