Reflective Empowerment: Empower Yourself by Philip Rochford is a self-help book for those who seek to develop a more meaningful and rewarding life for themselves. It deals with each individual's inner structure, the potential for achievement which is inherent in every person at birth. The program is designed to encompass the period of one year, with a reflective exercise to be addressed and practiced for one week before moving on to the next lesson. The book is interactive with written exercises offered to allow the reader to see his or her progress in thinking.
Although each concept is different, there are repetitions in which the concept is addressed from a different angle, so that each reader can have multiple opportunities to learn empowerment from many different perspectives. Realizing that repetition brings learning, the reader can run a check on whether earlier learning has been retained and incorporated into the general thought process. Throughout the book, the message is clear: the way one thinks about a given situation determines success or failure, and failure is never without learning which can bring about future success. Increasing one's knowledge base, getting in touch with core values and emphasizing the right things in life are core values to be incorporated in thinking.
Although many self-help books exist, many simply help the self who wrote the book. Reflective Empowerment is different in that it speaks to any individual's needs and values, and it offers a constructive and success-oriented manner of urging an individual towards inner feelings of value and achievement.
