Determined to rescue his girlfriend Aviva, a journalist who had been captured by the anarchist group called the Red Masks, Morgan is shocked to realize that he is wanted by the authorities who blame him for attacks in Paris and New York. While Morgan uses his heightened abilities to traverse portals, Aviva uncovers a deep conspiracy involving the two separate factions who seek to control The Virt. As chaos reigns all over Replika, Morgan must find a way to stop an old nemesis from enacting his plans. The stakes have never been higher as the future of humanity itself is at risk.
Hugo Bernard continues to push the boundaries of your imagination with this mind-bending follow-up to Sky's Mission that truly lives up to the lofty expectations it created. Replika doesn't miss a beat and continues at breakneck speed from start to finish, with a plot that keeps pulling the rug out from under you. While the first book had Sky as the main protagonist, this one focuses more on her brother Morgan, who must take up the mantle and save humanity. Bernard also incorporates some relevant real-world issues into the story that add depth to the narrative, highlighting its underlying societal and philosophical themes. Highly recommended to readers who enjoy thought-provoking sci-fi thrillers.
