Restored by Kevin Mark Smith is the modern day story of Job told in a very believable and entertaining fashion. Job thinks he has it all – a good job, a loving wife, a beautiful baby ... until he suddenly loses it all. Job is an honest, religious, do the right thing kind of guy, and he soon finds out that he will pay the price for his honesty and naivety. Job is an accountant and he discovers something wrong with his company’s books. He immediately takes his findings to his boss and best friend, Jack. This is the beginning of the end for Job; he suddenly finds himself accused of Jack's murder and placed in jail. Charles and his grandson Robert are the lawyers asked to handle the case and prove that Job is innocent. The case takes many dips and turns and ups and downs before the truth is found. Like Job in the Bible, our modern day Job continues to believe in God, pray and do his best to overcome the raw deal he is living.

I really enjoyed Restored very much, neglecting my dusting, vacuuming and household chores to keep on reading. Restored was hard to put down as I found myself anxious to get to the end and find out Job’s fate. Kevin Mark Smith has written a book with many elements including suspense, love, faith and surprises pulling me into the story and the lives of each of the characters. This five star winner is a must-read.
