Reve is a dream walker. He can slip into people's dreams and help them overcome their deepest fears. When Reve unwittingly enters the dream of the new girl in class, Kelly Leyton, he discovers deeply buried trauma from her past involving abuse and victim-blaming. Determined to save Kelly from the monster in her dreams, Reve reaches out to her, and the two develop a growing bond. However, Kelly must come to terms with her past and learn forgiveness, for it is the only way to repel the shade. Meanwhile, the shade has its past to deal with.

He never hesitates to put himself in the line of fire for those he cares about, making him someone young adult readers can look up to. I adored his relationship with Kelly.
