Rodeo Requiem by G.D. Obermiller promises to take readers on a thrilling journey through the world of rodeo. Rodeo rider Colton Macrae is found dead at the San Antonio rodeo, but it’s not clear whether he took his own life or not. Nick Fisher’s name and phone number are written on a tin of pain pills found at the scene, with a gun. Although the death is ruled a suicide, the gun found with Colton was Nick’s, and he’s up against his girlfriend, a San Antonio detective. Colton’s father hires Nick to prove his son was murdered, and the investigations lead to a drug cartel and a doctor running a pill mill targeting veterans. As the bodies pile up, Nick takes a risk, putting everyone in danger, and resulting in a kidnapping. Can he bring down the killer before anyone else gets hurt?
Wow, what a read! G.D. Obermiller’s Rodeo Requiem isn’t for the fainthearted. This is a high-stakes, all-action thriller that takes you deep into the rodeo scene and leads straight to the heart of a Mexican drug cartel. Every character has been crafted with precision and developed into a real person, and you’ll be rooting for the good guys right from the start. The plot is unique, a thrilling ride into the unknown, grabbing your attention from the first page and holding you hostage until the very end. If you’re looking for an exciting book to get your teeth into, I can’t recommend this one highly enough. It’s a thrilling ride that leaves you wanting more in a story that you’ll never forget.
