Rosewood Secrets: A Mary Elizabeth Adventure by Dr. Joyce Hardin began on an amazing day: Mary Elizabeth's birthday. After her ninth birthday, she expected to have a normal day. Contrary to her expectations, the days following her birthday were just as exciting. After her mother was employed as the chef at Rosewood Manor, Mary Elizabeth lived in the big house for a few days owing to an awful accident involving the manor's owners, the Ainsworth family. Because of this, she was able to make new friends with the family's twins, Sarah and Sam, who are the same age. Everything that has transpired thus far has given her more to think about, and being at Rosewood Manor has given her more reasons to be curious. As the secrets of the Manor emerge, will Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, and Sam be able to solve the Rosewood Manor mystery? Find out in Rosewood Secrets!

Rosewood Secrets by Dr. Joyce Hardin is well-written, entertaining, and moderately paced. It is also full of useful lessons that many children could benefit from. One of the most important lessons is always thinking before speaking. Mary Elizabeth is a highly curious child who enjoys talking, but she always makes sure to think before she speaks to avoid saying silly things. Her character is an excellent role model since many children her age express their opinions without taking into account the consequences of what they say. Her character also demonstrates the importance of asking questions when curious about something, as this is one of the most effective ways for children to learn. I loved reading about Mary Elizabeth's adventures since her reactions and thoughts are endearing. She also knows how to value everything around her, from little things to the biggest things she receives, which is commendable. The twins, Sam and Sarah, were equally outstanding. They were not selfish and always made sure to involve her in everything they did. I enjoyed Rosewood Manor, and the tale behind the rare rose with three colors touched my heart. Great work!
