Rover and the Dog Hotel by Uncle Amos is the story of a dog, Rover, who cooks, cleans, and plays video games. When Rover's family goes on a holiday to Bermuda, they leave him behind at a dog hotel because he cannot travel in an airplane. He makes new friends at the dog hotel and starts enjoying his life there. But Rover's family is missing him because they are so used to Rover doing everything for them. When they return home early from their vacation, they find a noticeable change in Rover's behavior. Will Rover stay at the dog hotel or will he go with his family?
The story is wonderful and children will love it with the dog as the hero and its colorful illustrations. The book will capture the interest of young readers and it makes a good bedtime story book. The book will also be good for read-aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries. Rover is an adorable dog who will find his way into the hearts of readers. The message that this story gives to the reader is that we should not take anyone for granted. We should also learn to appreciate the small things others do for us.
