Say Your ABC With Me by Gloria Johnson-Gordon is a workbook specifically designed to help kids develop the early learning skills necessary as they begin to learn to read and spell. Each page contains the letter being learned in its written form as well as in sign language. The practice pages that follow each letter are designed to be ‘hands on’ and interactive so that young children can easily practice as they learn as well as being educational and fun. Say Your ABC With Me will encourage children to learn their ABCs and develop the basic reading skills necessary to function in school. Gordon, no doubt, put this workbook together with the developmental needs of children in mind. This workbook would be suitable for the early stages of learning and would be a wonderful addition to any preschool or kindergarten class. Even homeschooling families would welcome adding Say Your ABC With Me to their curriculum.
Say Your ABC With Me by Gloria Johnson-Gordon is so much more than an early learning workbook. Gordon has gone the extra mile by encouraging the use of American Sign Language at an early age. I love how every section contains the letter to be learned with its ASL counterpart, followed by more pages that will help reinforce basic reading concepts for early learners. I recommend Say Your ABC With Me to anyone with children ready to begin learning their ABCs. Gordon has compiled a unique and easy to follow workbook that would be beneficial to any teacher of early learning. Say Your ABC With Me would fit easily into any curriculum for young children because the fun activities will encourage kids to want to learn more.
