Schizotopia by Andy Siege is the bittersweet story of Iddy, who's on his own unique journey of self-discovery. When schizophrenic Iddy sees Flora at the psychiatric hospital, he is immediately smitten; Flora is the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. He's captivated by her lavender eyes and green hair. As with any couple, they argue but it is also Flora who brings out the best in him. But when Flora goes missing, Iddy goes into a tailspin – he is no one without Flora. However, when his transgender flatmate Medulla drops a bombshell regarding Flora, Iddy refuses to acknowledge it. He is not confused; Flora is his amazing girlfriend, she has helped him pick up the pieces of his broken life and his broken heart. With his mental illness, things get difficult tracking down Flora, but on the way, he makes some strange discoveries about himself. Amazing discoveries.

Psychedelic and addictive, Schizotopia introduces readers to a whirlwind of emotions with no shortage of hallucinations from our loveable narrator, Iddy. Schizotopia is a wild ride, so buckle up; Iddy’s quirkiness and quick wit are not for the faint-hearted. Iddy’s story is a wonderful and weird experience that not only focuses on the losses of the LGBTQ+ community but also their wins. Suppressing your true self is dangerous and self-destructive. I couldn't put Iddy’s story down; it is beautifully woven into a fabric of broken yet relatable characters. Andy Siege did a wonderful job with Schizotopia and I believe that many will find inspiration in Iddy and Flora’s story. I loved that Medulla was able to be the crutch for Iddy when he so desperately needed it. They share a beautiful bond and I wish there was a Medulla for every Iddy. Iddy’s life journey has never been easy; his story is volatile and tumultuous but it is also raw and beautiful.
