In Shiny Happy Psycho by Stacy Walsh, thirty years ago, a group of friends at the Rockway High School called themselves the Rockway Five. Their peers knew them; they had beauty and brains and were athletic. Two members of the group were found murdered in a maintenance shed behind the football stadium. In 2023, Jaydee was locked in the same shed as a prank. Jaydee was not scared, and she felt a sad energy in the shed. Since then, Jaydee has wanted to connect to the energy. Dylan and Jaydee did a séance in the shed, asking what the energy wanted, and it spelled r-e-v-e-n-g-e. Jaydee found a 1993 yearbook, and she and Dylan go through the book to see if they can find anything in there that will lead them to the killer. Dylan and Jaydee found a photo of the Rockway Five in the yearbook, and to their shock, Jaydee’s parents were at Rockway High School in 1993.
Shiny Happy Psycho by Stacy Walsh was an extraordinary read. The story moved quickly and was packed with action from beginning to end. The writing was captivating, making it easy to immerse myself in Jaydee’s quest to find the murderer. The characters were well-crafted and believable. The storyline shifted between a group of friends from 1993 and another group from 2023. The bond between both groups began to show signs of strain, leading to a divide among them. The tension kept me flipping the pages, eager to discover the identity of the killer. I was completely taken by surprise at the identity of the murderer, as it was far from what I anticipated. This story was wonderfully crafted, and I was drawn in right from the beginning. It exceeded my expectations, and everything connected seamlessly. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and it will linger in my thoughts for a long time to come.
