There is nothing better than seeing people live out their dreams, and Stanley Smellman has the best job in the world. In Snack Time At The Zoo, author Mark Anderson takes us inside Stanley’s job of preparing and feeding all the animals that live at the zoo. The book features a diverse array of animals, from alpine mountain goats to lions. Kids will enjoy looking at the beautiful drawings from Andi Triyanta as these have a rare talent for making even the most ferocious animal look like a friend. Written in a consistent rhyme throughout the story, this book is the perfect choice to read out loud in a classroom or group setting.

Snack Time At The Zoo by Mark Anderson is a delightfully wholesome tale of Stanley Smellman, the zoo employee who feeds the animals every day. For Stanley, no day is an ordinary day at work. Kids will be inspired to follow his enthusiasm and kindness toward animals and to help make a positive impact on everyone they meet. The drawings are delightfully nostalgic, and children will enjoy trying to find their favorite creature in the book. This is a great tool to teach children about the different animals in a zoo, as well as introduce them to a diverse collection of foods. While I'm not sure if bears prefer strudel in real life, the book is delightfully silly enough to make you believe so. The author weaves in humor and sincerity masterfully to truly make it a treat to read. I loved this book! I appreciated the wide variety of animals featured in the book, as well as all the different, fun snacks that they may enjoy.
