Sniffle, Snuffle ... Blow! by Barbara Ann Elder, tells the story of Jessica, a young girl who constantly has a runny nose from frequent sneezing. She still does not know how to blow her nose correctly. Everywhere she went, whenever she had an unexpected sneeze, her nose would begin to drip, and she had no idea how to stop it. She became shy as a result of the attention her loud sneezes and runny nose were drawing. She was invited to play outside with her friends one day. But amid their enjoyment, Jessica began to sneeze once more. Now what will she do? Will she be teased by her friends? Read on and find out in Sniffle, Snuffle ... Blow!

Barbara Ann Elder’s Sniffle, Snuffle ... Blow! is enjoyable, charming, and skillfully written. Each page features vibrant illustrations by Sally Garland. I can relate to Jessica because I also have a runny nose and sneeze uncontrollably whenever the weather changes, or just from a bit of dust in the air. It's quite difficult to deal with a sensitive nose, especially for a kid. Children who are still learning how to blow their noses would benefit from this book. I'm happy to have found this sweet story because my younger siblings also have difficulties, and I find that teaching them how to do it can be challenging. It’s a perfect book for parents to read together with their children. I also found it funny how Jessica described her difficulties to her grandmother; fortunately, her grandmother understood exactly what she was talking about. The conclusion includes slime-making advice, which I thought was fantastic. The narrative piqued my curiosity about the slime cakes the kids were making, and the suggestion at the end made it much more intriguing. I had no idea how to produce slime. It was enjoyable to read. Excellent work!
