Change is especially hard for children. Sometimes It's Time (Tem Horas que é a Hora) by Jéssica S. Scheumann with illustrations by Saramello is a beautiful bilingual picture book that helps children learn to adapt to those special events in life that we can't control. This story is told through the eyes and voice of a child who realizes that there are situations that cause them to let go or have to say goodbye to things they enjoy. The author gives her story about saying goodbye and letting go at seven years old when she discovered that her father was dead. Initially, she believed that he was injured in an auto accident but once she discovered the truth, this became a traumatic experience for her. She hopes that this book will be helpful and instrumental in channeling conversations between a parent and child during these times.
