Struth Mate! by Ava Forme continues the search for meaning by building on a model of existence introduced in the first book of the Struth! series. Drawing on history, religion, science, and philosophy, the stories lean into a structured framework based on actual historical events and the probable interconnectedness of events with purpose. Traditional religious belief and scientific reasoning are incorporated for their limitations in addressing life’s ultimate questions, proposing instead a rational approach that includes elements from multiple disciplines. The concept of Gaia and her connection to divine figures comes up, suggesting she may influence life and evolution. The model further reinterprets the Book of Revelation, proposing a literal decoding that brings the figure of the returning Messiah into clearer view and positioning itself as a logical alternative for those seeking answers.

Struth Mate! Is This Hell? by Ava Forme showcases sharp, fluid writing that carries a strong sense of motion across bold ideas. The most striking elements to me are The Second Coming, The Four Horsemen, and Harvesting the Earth. Each offers a surge of energy, surprise, and sharp contrast. The Second Coming lands hard as Les, now God, proposes nuclear annihilation—Simon’s cold logic and Ed’s shaken response create a crisp, unforgettable moment. The Four Horsemen is a fierce shift—watching the ARC trigger chaos through religion and Gaia tear into prophecy makes it feel like a grand, ancient drama with tech-era teeth. Harvesting the Earth leans into personal and political reckonings, where betrayal cuts fast and the confrontation with Dean Jane is paced with careful force. Overall, this book is a masterclass in alternative ideas with high moments of absolute force that carry their own weight until the end. Very highly recommended.
