In Summer Tease: Falling for Summer by Martha Keyes, Gemma Sawyer returns to Sunset Harbor to help her grandmother transition from her house to Seaside Oasis, a retirement community. As she prepares her grandmother's house for sale, Gemma must run to the retirement center every time her humorously mischievous grandmother steps out of line. The Sawyers have had a long-running feud with their neighbors, the Palmers, and their sons, Beau and Tristan, still live next door and work in the community. While thinking about the memories of their families' war, Gemma tries to give them the cold shoulder, but they treat her politely. Beau is so good to her that she wants to fall for his beautiful, wavy hair and winning smile. They negotiate time with one another in a business sense until it is clear that feelings have developed.

Martha Keyes's sarcasm makes every page interesting and fun. Some of the situations - especially the ones involving Gemma's grandmother - are so funny, mostly because I can see my grandmother pulling the same stunts. The community knows how to work together and support one another, giving the story a heartwarming appeal. The heat builds between Gemma and Beau, and readers will find him irresistible. Who doesn't like a man in uniform who loves animals and picks up litter? I liked the way the author teased her readers with details about the budding romance, and after a mock citizen's arrest, I was completely invested in the romance. Sometimes, things you believe are true are mistaken, and this can change everything. Readers who enjoy witty, enemies-to-lovers romances with feuding families and very mild tension will love Summer Tease.
