Lael Giebel grew up in Berkeley, California, spent several years in Indonesia, and now lives in Central Florida with her husband and four sons. She is a sustainability professional, public speaker, and author. She has several industry certifications and an MBA in Sustainability. She writes straight forward, pragmatic works about the environment and how to integrate sustainability into your everyday life and business. When she’s not reading (and any genre is fair game), she enjoys tending her chickens, ducks, and bees or taking nature walks with her family. In her book, Sustainability is for Everyone, Lael Giebel showcases the importance of creating sustainable business practices and ways to easily implement planet-friendly approaches. The author discusses current issues and proposes ways to reduce the effects of waste, deforestation, and ocean acidification while including employees in a company’s contributions to the planet. Giebel urges readers to understand governmental ordinances and consumer expectations but encourages them to be transparent and work beyond the recommended parameters to establish a truly earth-friendly attitude before implementing new measures. She describes how to create an effective green team and an attainable climate pledge within your business while incorporating sustainability training most productively and outlines the use of sustainability for effective marketing and possible tax benefits.

After a childhood with eco-friendly caregivers, Lael Giebel continued in an environmentally safe direction, earning an array of green certificates and making noteworthy accomplishments in sustainability. To say there’s a wealth of information in her book would be an understatement! Giebel makes suggestions and gives examples for presenting a company in a more earth-friendly way. She acknowledges that everyone is at a different place regarding sustainability and encourages continued growth without judging or overwhelming the reader. In addition to business applications, most practices may be used in a person’s daily life.
