Ted Wants to Rock! by Quaid Leckey is the delightful story of Ted who daydreams of being a rock star. He dreams of performing on stage, his music being popular on radio, being successful, travelling in a limousine and signing autographs. These thoughts dominate Ted's mind whenever he gets down to doing anything at home. Ted is getting ready for his first concert. Will Ted enthrall the audience with his chords, frets, and notes? Will the concert be successful and make him a famous rock star? Take a trip along with Ted and see where he will take you with his music and dreams.
It is a cute little story that kids would love because the theme is relatable. Kids like to dream a lot about things that they love to do and this book lets them do it. The pictures are adorable. They give Ted a personality and they make the scenes move along with Ted's dreams. The wise old Doggy who accompanies Ted on his drums, and their rocking music that enthralls listeners, will excite kids. It is a good bedtime story book and will be useful in school libraries and classrooms for story-telling and read-aloud sessions.
Pictorial books like these are ideal for kids to start with because it makes the story and the concept very clear. The colors and the brightness will encourage them to start reading other books. Ted will remain in the memories of all kids who read this book.
