Teddy and The Gipper by Len Clark follows the adventures of a young boy and his friendship with a college football star. Teddy Flynn was nine years old when his family left Chicago to move to South Bend, Indiana, after Teddy's father got a job at the local auto manufacturing plant. Like kids his age, Teddy didn't like the move because he had to part with his best friend Jimmy in Chicago. However, he still had his beloved floppy-eared ragamuffin, Snacks, with him. Upon visiting the Notre Dame campus, Teddy strikes up an unexpected friendship with the Fighting Irish football player, George Gipp. He goes on to serve as a special assistant to Coach Knute Rockne and even plays a small role in Notre Dame's undefeated championship season.

Teddy and The Gipper is a heartfelt story about friendship and sports bringing people from different walks of life together. Featuring captivating illustrations by Jared Basker, this wonderful tale will charm the hearts of young and older readers alike. Author Len Clark does a fantastic job of capturing the Notre Dame experience from a child's perspective. Events from childhood are always impactful and shape a person's outlook toward life. Teddy had great role models who taught him the value of perseverance, teamwork, and competitiveness. Young readers will find it easy to relate to him. Teddy's bond with his dog, Snacks, is adorable. The book also features actual players from Notre Dame, which will delight American football fans. In conclusion, it's a beautiful story about growing up and following one's dreams.
