The author espouses the idea that showing gratitude is not only important in our personal lives but also in the workplace. Aside from drawing on her personal experience, the book also includes several relevant case studies of successful business leaders and how they created the ideal workplace culture in their organizations. Each chapter starts with quotes from prominent businesspeople and ends with concrete ideas of what the individual, management, and organization can do to make a difference. Topics include how to enrich your employee’s involvement, creating appreciation strategies, keeping employees safe in the workplace, connecting with employees who are working from home, using your website and social media to showcase your company’s culture, and a lot more.
As the title suggests, Lisa Ryan’s Thank You Very Much is about creating the ideal workplace - a happy and productive space where efforts are appreciated. The book teaches readers how to show genuine gratitude and to be able to do this one has to go through the process of learning gratitude from an individual perspective. Engaging and easy to read, the structure of the book is designed in such a way that it is relatively easy to understand and implement the advice. Using case studies and citing statistics, this is an authentic guidebook for all members of the workforce. With the modern marketplace becoming increasingly unpredictable, this is a relevant read. Highly recommended!
