The 666 Horrors Of Nicholas Blackheart is written by Alexander MID Night. In the second book of the series, horror novelist Nicholas Blackheart is trying to forget the haunting memories of the past. The killer, known as D, is behind bars but can still manipulate and psychologically torture Nicholas. From a police interrogation room, D makes Nicholas an unusual offer. When he turns the offer down, Nicholas finds himself the focus of some strange organization that is using the content of his novel The Season Of Hell as a manual for their gruesome activities. The members of the organization each have powerful abilities which they plan to use to destroy humanity. As the organization, led by the Founder, begin to execute their deadly scheme, the FBI, the military and the White House try to prevent them. But even their power combined is no match for the almighty force of an organization of evolved beings whose sole aim is to destroy civilization and take Nicholas with them.

In The 666 Horrors Of Nicholas Blackheart by Alexander MID Night, the exciting and unusual plot exceeded my expectations. It has so many layers and as each one is peeled away, it brings about even more suspense and tension. The fast-paced action is unfaltering and gripping. The descriptive narrative really brought the events in the story to life and some were quite disturbing to read. The author writes beautifully and manages to stir each of your senses perfectly. The story is an unusual blend of horror, mystery, and fantasy which has been exceptionally well executed. I loved the relationship dynamics between Nicholas and Rose, and the Founder was a superb villain. Although this is a stand-alone novel, I believe you would benefit from reading the first in the series. The ending really left you wanting more, and the third book is definitely on my reading wish list.

Why does it always seem like the most original and well-written books get 4 stars on this site, and the hokiest, least original ones get exalted to 5 star status? Anyway, this book was intense. Haven't read a horror novel in a looooong time that actually had me shaken and stirred! Great plot movement.
